1. Excuse me.Copy !req
2. May I help you?
Oh, I really hope so.Copy !req
3. What can I do for you?Copy !req
4. Uh, my firm submitted plans
for Mesa Verde Bank.Copy !req
5. We're building a branch
here in Lubbock.Copy !req
6. Oh, sure, I think
I saw that come through.Copy !req
7. As I was cleaning up,
re-filing all our plans
internally,Copy !req
8. I realized I was missing
one of the old versions.Copy !req
9. We had some late changes
to the conference-room
dimensions,Copy !req
10. so there were different
versions floating aroundCopy !req
11. and things got
really complicated.Copy !req
12. Sorry. (CHUCKLES)
Whew.Copy !req
13. So, long story short,
I think it's possibleCopy !req
14. the wrong version
ended up in our proposal.Copy !req
15. Oh, dear.
Yeah.Copy !req
16. So, I have
the correct plans here,Copy !req
17. and I was hoping
to just take a lookCopy !req
18. at the approved plans
to compare them,Copy !req
19. just to make sure.
Okay. Okay.Copy !req
20. Um, but if they're wrong,
you know you have to
re-file...Copy !req
21. Re-file. Yeah. I know.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
22. I just want to make sure
they actually are
the wrong onesCopy !req
23. before I, uh,
get into it with my bosses.Copy !req
24. No problem.Copy !req
25. Uh, Mesa Verde?
Yes.Copy !req
26. Do you have
the address?Copy !req
27. 8783 Baylor Street.Copy !req
28. I'll be right back.
Thank you.Copy !req
29. (DOOR OPENS)
Here we go.Copy !req
30. Oh, I'll...
I'll come around to you.Copy !req
31. Oh, good. Thanks.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
32. Okay.Copy !req
33. Yep. Dates match.
That's a good start.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
34. Uh, all right, conference room
is on sheet A1.1.Copy !req
35. And room dimensions
should be 15'6" by 12'6"?Copy !req
36. Uh, 15'6" by 12'6".Copy !req
37. Great.Copy !req
38. Uh, break or sprain?Copy !req
39. Huh?
Uh, your foot.Copy !req
40. Oh, uh, a sprain.Copy !req
41. I started trail running
a couple months ago,Copy !req
42. went for a run last week,
wasn't paying attention,Copy !req
43. and got my foot snagged
in one of the roots,Copy !req
44. just twisted my ankle.
Ooh.Copy !req
45. Do you have a setback
for that conference-room wallCopy !req
46. at two feet, 10 inches?Copy !req
47. Uh, yes, the wall is set back
two feet, 10 inches.Copy !req
48. So far, so good.Copy !req
49. It hasn't been that bad except
I have an 8-month-old, so...Copy !req
50. Oh, congratulations.Copy !req
51. Thanks.Copy !req
52. Been, you know,
kind of doing it on my own.Copy !req
53. My brother's been helping
since I'm a little limited
these days,Copy !req
54. driving me around
and whatnot.Copy !req
55. Well, it's nice
to have family around.Copy !req
56. Yeah.
For the most part.Copy !req
57. (CHUCKLES) He tries.
That's the important thing,
right?Copy !req
58. (CHUCKLING)
Oh. Yeah.
Okay.Copy !req
59. I think
these are the same.Copy !req
60. Am I missing anything?Copy !req
61. They look the same to me.Copy !req
62. Great.
(BOTH LAUGH)Copy !req
63. Yes!
No re-filing.Copy !req
64. Ah. Thank you.Copy !req
65. Uh, thank you, Shirley.
God.Copy !req
66. You're welcome.Copy !req
67. You saved my life.Copy !req
68. I am telling you,
my bosses would have
murdered me.Copy !req
69. I understand.Copy !req
70. You know,
you're the only person
in charge of organization,Copy !req
71. and suddenly everything's
your fault, right?
Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
72. I assume you would know
all about that.Copy !req
73. Yo, Lizzie.Copy !req
74. Bill. Where's Aidan?Copy !req
75. Oh. Hey, lady.Copy !req
76. Um, he's fine,
but he's very hungry.Copy !req
77. Bill. Bill...
And he's like
a little eating machine.Copy !req
78. Bill...
Could you sniff this
for me?Copy !req
79. Bill! Where is Aidan?Copy !req
80. He's fine.
He's in the Wrangler.Copy !req
81. Just take a smell
because...
What?Copy !req
82. (SNIFFS)
it's a little funky.Copy !req
83. You left my child
in your Jeep?Copy !req
84. Yeah. I cracked the window,
just...Copy !req
85. Bill...
What?Copy !req
86. Check this...
Just give me the keys.Copy !req
87. I'm not gonna check it!
Where ya going?Copy !req
88. To get Aidan because
you can't leave a baby
in a car.Copy !req
89. What the hell
is wrong with you?Copy !req
90. Oh, man.Copy !req
91. Get... Go get the...
What?Copy !req
92. Go get the baby, Bill.
What did I do?Copy !req
93. Help her!
Well, it's only been a minute.Copy !req
94. I didn't know!
(KIM SIGHS)Copy !req
95. Sorry. (SLURPING)Copy !req
96. What am I supposed to do?Copy !req
97. What are you
supposed to do?Copy !req
98. You're supposed
to watch a baby
for five minutes in a car.Copy !req
99. How hard is that?Copy !req
100. Slow down.
I'm wearing flip-flops.Copy !req
101. How's Aidan?Copy !req
102. Oh, he's fine.Copy !req
103. He was only alone
for a minute,
thank God.Copy !req
104. Wait. What...
What happened?Copy !req
105. Your milk...
What?Copy !req
106. Well, it... It just kind of
went everywhere.Copy !req
107. What are you talking...
I am so sorry.Copy !req
108. What...
Oh, my God.Copy !req
109. (GASPS) Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.Copy !req
110. I... I...
No, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no!Copy !req
111. Shirley, I can't!
Shirley, that's not...
A-All right, all right.Copy !req
112. Oh, my God,
they don't even know
I'm in Texas!Copy !req
113. L-Listen, this is what
we're gonna do.Copy !req
114. This is
what we're gonna do.Copy !req
115. (GASPING)
You're gonna give me
your copy,Copy !req
116. and I'll trade them out.Copy !req
117. W-Won't you
get in trouble?Copy !req
118. They're exactly the same.Copy !req
119. No one has to know.Copy !req
120. (EXHALES SHARPLY)
Are you sure?Copy !req
121. Go on, Get them.
Okay.Copy !req
122. Okay.Copy !req
123. Okay, if you're sure.Copy !req
124. Okay.Copy !req
125. Thank you so much.Copy !req
126. Shirley...Copy !req
127. I can't tell you
how much this means to me.Copy !req
128. Really,
you're a life-saver.Copy !req
129. We need
to stick together.Copy !req
130. Being a mom
is hard enough.Copy !req
131. All right.Copy !req
132. All right.Copy !req
133. Let's make this official.Copy !req
134. We have returned. Welcome back
to "The Newlywed Game."Copy !req
135. Gentlemen, we've recorded
your predictions on cards.Copy !req
136. You now have them
flat on your laps.Copy !req
137. Remember, each time
that your prediction
matches your wife's answer,Copy !req
138. you get five points,
and the one coupleCopy !req
139. with the most points
at the end of the show
wins a great second honeymoon.Copy !req
140. So, ladies, we are so thrilled
that you did come back,Copy !req
141. and here's your first question
for five points.Copy !req
142. Tell me, ladies,
if you were a boat,
does your husband thinkCopy !req
143. you've been taking in
the most water lately
on your stern,Copy !req
144. on your port side,
on your starboard side,
or on your bow?Copy !req
145. Where you taking in
that water, Laura?Copy !req
146. My stern.
(SPEAKING SPANISH)Copy !req
147. On your stern.
Definitely, yeah.Copy !req
148. He said you've been taking
a lot of water in on your bow.Copy !req
149. Bow?Copy !req
150. The top half's the bow.Copy !req
151. Yeah, but...
Okay.Copy !req
152. I... I'm a little...
Are you saying I'm top-heavy?Copy !req
153. Lately.
Lately? I guess. Okay.Copy !req
154. Are you complaining?Copy !req
155. No, not at all.
(LAUGHTER)Copy !req
156. You don't like her bow?
I love her bow.Copy !req
157. (SPEAKING SPANISH)
I just thought
my stern.Copy !req
158. That's where
she's taking...
Where?Copy !req
159. Bow.
On her bow.Copy !req
160. Not on the stern?Copy !req
161. No.
How's she stay afloat?Copy !req
162. (LAUGHTER)
She's top-heavy.Copy !req
163. She's top-heavy?
Yeah.Copy !req
164. I see. Okay.
Tammy, where you
taking in the water?Copy !req
165. I would say the bow.
On your bow?Copy !req
166. Really?
Oh, because your bow
is your stomach here.Copy !req
167. Her bow is her top side.Copy !req
168. Well, you know...Copy !req
169. Her bow, yeah.Copy !req
170. said you've been taking
a lot of water in on your...Copy !req
171. big bow?Copy !req
172. Big bow. (LAUGHS)Copy !req
173. (LAUGHTER)
Hmm?Copy !req
174. You don't like
her stern?Copy !req
175. Bow?
On your bow.Copy !req
176. He said you're taking in a lot
of water on your port side.Copy !req
177. He said you dragged
the telephoneCopy !req
178. and dropped if off
a 10-story building.
(LAUGHS)Copy !req
179. "Ding! Ding! Ding!"
(LAUGHS)Copy !req
180. Ladies, if you compared
your whoopie sessions,Copy !req
181. what will your husband say
you think he needs to work onCopy !req
182. before your next
big match?
(BELL DINGS)Copy !req
183. Is it his timing,
his pacing...Copy !req
184. I'm sorry
he has a problem.Copy !req
185. Laura?Copy !req
186. Definitely follow-through.Copy !req
187. Follow-through.
Yeah.Copy !req
188. Everything else
is doing good,Copy !req
189. but afterwards, he's like,
"Okay, what's next?Copy !req
190. Let's get up and go."
Oh, really?Copy !req
191. (LAUGHING) Yeah.Copy !req
192. That's 12:00
at night, right?
Yeah...Copy !req
193. Hey, why don't you, um,
go get some Jell-O?
Pacing?Copy !req
194. Pacing, yeah.
Everything else is fine,
just pacing.Copy !req
195. We got
a big pacing problem.Copy !req
196. Mmm-hmm. (CHUCKLES)
Okay.Copy !req
197. Next question, ladies...
How many gallons of waterCopy !req
198. will your husband say
the largest tub or sink
in your home holds?Copy !req
199. I would say 32 maybe.
(SPEAKING SPANISH)Copy !req
200. Thirty-two. Wow.
That's a guess, but...Copy !req
201. Yeah.
I'm not very good with,
like, measure stuff. (LAUGHS)Copy !req
202. (BELL DINGS)
Laura?Copy !req
203. Probably smaller,
just, like, maybe 10.Copy !req
204. Ten? Ten Gallons?
Ten. Ten gallons.Copy !req
205. Oh, my.
Yeah.
Smaller size.Copy !req
206. Pardon me?
A smaller size.Copy !req
207. He's not taking a bath,
is he?
(BELL DINGS)Copy !req
208. Well, we have a ver...Copy !req
209. Same old Hector.Copy !req
210. Just wants
to kill everybody.Copy !req
211. You know, the biggest pancake
is not the best pancake,
or they would call itCopy !req
212. "the best pancake
that happens to be
the biggest."Copy !req
213. (LAUGHS)
Top off?Copy !req
214. But, no, it's the...
Thank you.Copy !req
215. Can I get y'all
anything else?Copy !req
216. Stuffed.
Uh, we're good. Thanks.Copy !req
217. (CHUCKLES) No, you don't want
a whole other burger?Copy !req
218. Whenever you're ready.
No rush.Copy !req
219. Okay, thanks.
(LAUGHS)Copy !req
220. You better take it easy
with that stuff.Copy !req
221. Oh, we've still got
at least at hour
on the road.Copy !req
222. Gotta stay awake.Copy !req
223. Yeah, but you got to be
able to sleep when
we get home, too.Copy !req
224. What time
is your hearing?
11:00.Copy !req
225. This time next week,
I will once again be
James McGill, Esquire.Copy !req
226. Yes.
Mmm.Copy !req
227. Mmm! And I already got a jump
on my new practice.Copy !req
228. Oh, yeah?
Yeah.Copy !req
229. Unexpected bonus
of the drop-phone business,Copy !req
230. it turns out it's great
for client development.Copy !req
231. Y... Yes,
I... I guess that's true.Copy !req
232. Sooner or later,
every last one of those idiots
is gonna need an attorney.Copy !req
233. Of course, they all know me
as Saul Goodman.Copy !req
234. That's just details.
(CHUCKLES)Copy !req
235. Got to say,
a lot of peopleCopy !req
236. are gonna be
begging for the old
Huell Babineaux treatment.Copy !req
237. And what's that?Copy !req
238. Our powers...Copy !req
239. Combined.Copy !req
240. for us to undo a potentially
life-ruining sentence.Copy !req
241. I think we should only use
our powers for good.Copy !req
242. What are we considering
good as of...Copy !req
243. 9:06 p.m. tonight?
You know what?Copy !req
244. It's like
Potter Stewart said.Copy !req
245. We'll know it
when we see it.Copy !req
246. We just drove 300 miles
to scam Lubbock, Texas,Copy !req
247. so that your client can have
a 13% bigger bank branch.Copy !req
248. Don't get me wrong.
I loved every second of it.Copy !req
249. But how is that using
our powers for good?Copy !req
250. Okay. Fine.Copy !req
251. Yeah. We'll know it
when we see it.Copy !req
252. I... I like it.Copy !req
253. It's a plan
I can get behind.Copy !req
254. Mmm-hmm. Okay.Copy !req
255. I'm in position.Copy !req
256. We're almost ready here.
Stand by.Copy !req
257. Copy.Copy !req
258. What's up?Copy !req
259. My apologies.Copy !req
260. We have
a small problem.
How small?Copy !req
261. The red light.Copy !req
262. It means there's no, uh...
How do you say...Copy !req
263. Continuity on the circuit
of one of the three charges.Copy !req
264. The orange one.Copy !req
265. There may be
a loose or faulty wire.Copy !req
266. I'll go in and check.Copy !req
267. I thought you were
the demolition expert.Copy !req
268. It's my job, Michael.Copy !req
269. (SIGHS)
Stand by.Copy !req
270. Copy. Standing by.Copy !req
271. I think we're ready here,
Michael.Copy !req
272. All green.Copy !req
273. We're good here.Copy !req
274. Ready?
Go.Copy !req
275. Call it.Copy !req
276. On the go.Copy !req
277. Five...Copy !req
278. Four...Copy !req
279. Three...Copy !req
280. Two...Copy !req
281. One.Copy !req
282. Now!Copy !req
283. Whoo-hoo!Copy !req
284. Oh, wait!
We're missing one!Copy !req
285. We're missing one!Copy !req
286. Have a drink!Copy !req
287. No, no, no, no.
I'm good. Thank you.Copy !req
288. No.
We don't accept this.Copy !req
289. You can't be
always on duty, Mike.Copy !req
290. Mike! Mike!
Mike! Mike! Mike!Copy !req
291. Mike! Mike! Mike!
Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike!
Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike!Copy !req
292. Ah.Copy !req
293. What's on your mind,
hmm?Copy !req
294. Nothing, really.Copy !req
295. (SIGHS) I'm pleased
the blasting went well.Copy !req
296. No damage
to the structure,Copy !req
297. no unforeseen incidents.Copy !req
298. You don't seem pleased.Copy !req
299. I'm just tired.Copy !req
300. I need to know
what's going on.Copy !req
301. Nothing is going on.Copy !req
302. This work is taking longer
than I estimated.Copy !req
303. It is.
And I appreciate
the R and R.Copy !req
304. The boys... (CHUCKLING)
They had fun.Copy !req
305. But I'm...Copy !req
306. Michael,
you were married?Copy !req
307. I was.
How long?Copy !req
308. Twenty-two years.Copy !req
309. Perhaps you will understand.Copy !req
310. Twenty-six in April.
Congratulations.Copy !req
311. Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
312. My wife...Copy !req
313. I'm...Copy !req
314. Uh, I'm...
Without her, I am adr...Copy !req
315. Adrift.
Yeah. Adrift without her.Copy !req
316. You've been away before.Copy !req
317. Yes, of course.
Not like this.Copy !req
318. I'll finish
what I've started,
no question of that.Copy !req
319. Still, I can't help
but wonder...Copy !req
320. No, of course not.Copy !req
321. What?
It's impossible.Copy !req
322. Although...Copy !req
323. Kai could supervise the work
until I get back.Copy !req
324. I don't wish
to cause you hardship,Copy !req
325. even though
I'd only be goneCopy !req
326. for four days
or five, maybe, total.Copy !req
327. You're talking about flying
to Germany for a weekend?Copy !req
328. Just a quick trip.Copy !req
329. Fwih, fwih!Copy !req
330. I could leave
detailed instructions.Copy !req
331. The work would not
be interrupted.Copy !req
332. You wanna see your wife?Copy !req
333. More than anything.Copy !req
334. Then finish the job.Copy !req
335. Werner, you can do this.Copy !req
336. You put your head down,
and you push your way through.Copy !req
337. When it's done,
from the money
you've made here,Copy !req
338. you'll never be
away from your wife again.Copy !req
339. Of course. (CHUCKLES)Copy !req
340. Of course you're right.Copy !req
341. Flight of fancy.Copy !req
342. I... I tell you what.Copy !req
343. We'll get you
on the phone with her
for an extra call.Copy !req
344. Mmm.Copy !req
345. We'll do it tomorrow.Copy !req
346. Thank you, my friend.Copy !req
347. You hang in there.Copy !req
348. Mr. Fring?Copy !req
349. Ah, yes, Lyle?Copy !req
350. There's a, uh,
man who just came in.Copy !req
351. And I know
that it's been a while,Copy !req
352. but I was just like,
"He is so familiar."Copy !req
353. I think it's one of the guys
that, you know,Copy !req
354. made all the trouble
last year.Copy !req
355. (GULPS) Not, uh, the...
The main guy,Copy !req
356. which is why
I'm not totally sure.Copy !req
357. I see.Copy !req
358. He's not
doing anything, though.Copy !req
359. Uh, he and the other guy
ordered some food,Copy !req
360. and they're just sitting,Copy !req
361. but I... I thought
that you'd want to know.Copy !req
362. Oh, thank you, Lyle.Copy !req
363. I'll take care of it.Copy !req
364. And you
should know because...Copy !req
365. Is everything
to your liking?Copy !req
366. Are you kidding me?Copy !req
367. This is the best chicken
I have ever had.Copy !req
368. (CHUCKLING) Well,
I'm delighted to hear that.Copy !req
369. No, really. I'm serious.Copy !req
370. I mean, it's crispy,
but it's not dried out,Copy !req
371. and the seasoning,
it's so...Copy !req
372. Flavorful.Copy !req
373. (CHUCKLES)
Well, thank you.Copy !req
374. Is there anything else
I can do for you?Copy !req
375. Is there any chance...Copy !req
376. And I know the answer
is probably no,Copy !req
377. but is it possible for me
to meet the owner?Copy !req
378. I am the owner.Copy !req
379. Really?Copy !req
380. How lucky for me.Copy !req
381. Would you be interested
in franchising?Copy !req
382. Because I would be eager
to invest.Copy !req
383. Well, perhaps we should go
to my office,Copy !req
384. where we can
discuss it further.Copy !req
385. Excellent.Copy !req
386. Don't waste that.
This way.Copy !req
387. Now, what may I do for you,
Senor...Copy !req
388. Salamanca.Copy !req
389. Eduardo Salamanca.
But you can call me Lalo.Copy !req
390. And you're Gustavo Fring.Copy !req
391. I have been an admirer
of yours for many years.Copy !req
392. You have how many
of these restaurants?Copy !req
393. Seven.
Seven.Copy !req
394. And starting from nothing.Copy !req
395. That's incredible.Copy !req
396. What may I do for you?Copy !req
397. I come here on behalf
of my entire familyCopy !req
398. to give you
our deepest thanks.Copy !req
399. Well, for what?Copy !req
400. For what?Copy !req
401. For saving Don Hector's life.Copy !req
402. I just visited him.Copy !req
403. You know,
seeing a man like that,Copy !req
404. can't speak,
can barely move...Copy !req
405. I wanted to weep.Copy !req
406. But it could have
been worse.Copy !req
407. Varga tells me
that while everybody else
was picking their asses,Copy !req
408. you rushed to him,
struck him on the chest,
and brought him back.Copy !req
409. It was simple instinct.Copy !req
410. But still,
with all the history
between you two,Copy !req
411. what you did
was a gesture of peace.Copy !req
412. Or at least,
that's how we see it.
Mmm.Copy !req
413. I'm very pleased
to hear that.Copy !req
414. And here we are,
gettin' along.Copy !req
415. Mmm.Copy !req
416. Really?Copy !req
417. Still, if we were
to get along too well,Copy !req
418. I'm sure Eladio
wouldn't like that, would he?Copy !req
419. I am satisfied
with the current arrangement.Copy !req
420. I'm just shitting you.Copy !req
421. You would be crazy
to go up against Eladio.Copy !req
422. Look, I'm gonna be in town
for a while,Copy !req
423. so, uh, you know,
we'll talk some more.Copy !req
424. We owe you.Copy !req
425. If you need a favor,
I'm your man.Copy !req
426. Same. Naturally.Copy !req
427. Oh, and I'll be back
for that chicken, eh?Copy !req
428. It's too tasty
to stay away from.Copy !req
429. You say you pick up
six keys a week?Copy !req
430. Yeah.Copy !req
431. Where?Copy !req
432. He's got a chicken farm
way out of town.Copy !req
433. Show me.Copy !req
434. Mr. McGill,
we're ready for you now.Copy !req
435. Great.Copy !req
436. And it looks like
you've completedCopy !req
437. the Pre Prosecution
Diversion Program?Copy !req
438. That's right.
Three-and-a-half weeks ago.Copy !req
439. Actually, I believe,
if you look at
the supplemental materials,Copy !req
440. there's a letter from
my supervisor, Brad Markham.Copy !req
441. Mmm. Uh... Ah, good.Copy !req
442. He says he was impressed
with your commitment.Copy !req
443. And for most of last year,
you've been employed
at CC Mobile?Copy !req
444. It's a cell phone store.Copy !req
445. And, again,
there's a letterCopy !req
446. from my manager,
Mr. Robert Finn.Copy !req
447. Uh, it's also in
the supplemental materials.Copy !req
448. Mmm.Copy !req
449. Says here you were
part of somethingCopy !req
450. called the Silver Circle
three months in a row?Copy !req
451. It's a sales award.Copy !req
452. Mr. Finn
and the people at CC Mobile
have been very generous.Copy !req
453. You don't have to sell
many phonesCopy !req
454. to get in the Silver,
believe me.Copy !req
455. What made you choose
that particular field?Copy !req
456. Honestly, just, uh,
to put bread on the table.Copy !req
457. But I would say
it's given meCopy !req
458. a new outlook
on client relations.Copy !req
459. I mean, after dealing with
cell phone contracts,Copy !req
460. explaining statutes
to my clients should be
a cakewalk.Copy !req
461. Well, as the saying goes,
the law is
constantly changing.Copy !req
462. Have you been
keeping yourself, uh,Copy !req
463. apprised of
the latest developments?Copy !req
464. I've been reading
the Bar Journal.Copy !req
465. You know,
what caught my eye recently
was Crawford v. Washington.Copy !req
466. Any of you follow that?Copy !req
467. That has to do with
the admissibility
of ex parte examinations?Copy !req
468. That was a...
A Supreme Court case,
wasn't it?Copy !req
469. That's right.
How did it go?Copy !req
470. "The only indicium
of reliabilityCopy !req
471. "sufficient to satisfy
constitutional demandsCopy !req
472. "is the one the Constitution
actually prescribes...Copy !req
473. "Confrontation."Copy !req
474. Classic Scalia.Copy !req
475. I can't help
but think about victimsCopy !req
476. forced to confront their
assailants in open court,Copy !req
477. but on the other hand,
the Sixth Amendment
is pretty controlling.Copy !req
478. Uh... (CLEARS THROAT)
I'm sorry.Copy !req
479. I just... I get rolling
on constitutional questions.Copy !req
480. Short answer...
I've been doing my level best.Copy !req
481. Well, Mr. McGill, is there
anything you'd like to tell usCopy !req
482. about the reasons you were
suspended in the first place?Copy !req
483. This past year,
that's pretty much been
the only thing on my mind.Copy !req
484. And I'm humbled by the sheer
stupidity of my actions.Copy !req
485. Remorse doesn't begin
to cover it.Copy !req
486. I'm not gonna make excuses
'cause there's no excuse
for what I did.Copy !req
487. But as I sit here,Copy !req
488. I can assure you nothing like
that will ever happen again.Copy !req
489. Never.Copy !req
490. Well, all right.Copy !req
491. That would seem
to be satisfactory.Copy !req
492. Um, Meg,
you have something?Copy !req
493. Mr. McGill,
what does the law mean to you?Copy !req
494. The law?Copy !req
495. Uh, yeah. Okay.Copy !req
496. Um...Copy !req
497. Listen, growing up,
becoming a lawyer was, uh,
the last thing on my mind.Copy !req
498. Even if I wanted to,
I didn't have the smartsCopy !req
499. or the skills
or the "stick-to-it"-ivness.Copy !req
500. But I happened to get a job
with some attorneys,Copy !req
501. and I couldn't help but think,
"Maybe I could do that?"Copy !req
502. Something inside me
made me want to try.Copy !req
503. Now, listen,
my diploma saysCopy !req
504. the "University of American
Samoa Law School,"Copy !req
505. and that's exactly
what it sounds like.Copy !req
506. That's a correspondence
school.Copy !req
507. I wish it said "Georgetown"
(CHUCKLES) or "Northwestern."Copy !req
508. But UAS...
That's the only one
that would take me.Copy !req
509. 'Cause let me tell you,
I wasn't a natural.Copy !req
510. I mean, the classes,
the studying,Copy !req
511. trying to pass the bar
(SCOFFS)
practically killed me.Copy !req
512. I must have quit
10 or 12 times.Copy !req
513. But I kept coming back to it,
and I'm...
I'm really glad I didCopy !req
514. because when I got to work
with actual clients,Copy !req
515. there was
nothing else like it.Copy !req
516. Our legal system
is complicated,Copy !req
517. and sometimes
it could feel capricious,Copy !req
518. but it's the closest thing
to real justice
that we've got.Copy !req
519. And for it to work,
it needs vigorous,
passionate advocates.Copy !req
520. And helping my clients,
you know,Copy !req
521. arguing on their behalf,
that's the best thing
I've ever done.Copy !req
522. And this past year...Copy !req
523. I've missed
the hell out of it.Copy !req
524. That was very eloquent.Copy !req
525. Was there any particular
influence on your views?Copy !req
526. Um, credit where
credit is due.Copy !req
527. The University
of American Samoa.Copy !req
528. Go, Land Crabs!Copy !req
529. Anything else?Copy !req
530. No. Thank you.
No? Good.Copy !req
531. I think we have
everything we need.Copy !req
532. You'll be getting a letter
with our decision
in the next few days.Copy !req
533. All right.Copy !req
534. Um, thanks for your time,
all of you.Copy !req
535. I thought he was
right up there, you know?Copy !req
536. Yeah, no, he was part of
the review process.Copy !req
537. And you've worked
with him before.Copy !req
538. Good guy?
Yeah, real good guy.Copy !req
539. Hey. Hi.Copy !req
540. Hi. Mr. McGill.Copy !req
541. Yes. I know they said
I'd hear from them,Copy !req
542. but, uh, just between
you and me,
uh, what did they decide?Copy !req
543. You got
to be kidding me.Copy !req
544. No. No.
No, no, no, no, no!Copy !req
545. (GROANS) Oh, no!Copy !req
546. Hey, wait a minute!Copy !req
547. You're denying me?Copy !req
548. What did I do wrong?
Mr. McGill?Copy !req
549. What did I do wrong?
I can't...Copy !req
550. Mr. McGill,
this is not the place.Copy !req
551. Okay. I did everything right.
Please tell me.Copy !req
552. Look, (SIGHS) these decisions
are never easy.Copy !req
553. Okay, come on.
I deserve an answer.Copy !req
554. Please!
Mr. McGill, I... I can't...Copy !req
555. I did everything right.Copy !req
556. It was a question
of sincerity.Copy !req
557. A w... What?Copy !req
558. Some members of the committee
found you somewhat...Copy !req
559. Insincere.Copy !req
560. You're free to apply again
next year.Copy !req
561. Hey, Mike.Copy !req
562. Hey.Copy !req
563. Well, how goes it
with the dirty half-dozen?Copy !req
564. Playing volleyball.Copy !req
565. That guy Kai cheats.Copy !req
566. Mmm-hmm.Copy !req
567. Werner still talking?Copy !req
568. Oh, they've been
saying goodbye
for about 20 minutes now.Copy !req
569. Anything of note?Copy !req
570. Uh, they got a new puppy,
and it's peeing everywhere.Copy !req
571. The dog, the house.Copy !req
572. Her back's acting up,
so they wantCopy !req
573. to go to the springs at
Baden-Baden once he gets back.Copy !req
574. Sound like the usual.
Yep.Copy !req
575. They've been at it
almost an hour and a half.Copy !req
576. You want me to, uh,
give a 10-minute warning?Copy !req
577. No.Copy !req
578. Let him go on
as long as he wants.Copy !req
579. Wait. Okay.Copy !req
580. They're wrapping up.Copy !req
581. She's got to
get to book club.Copy !req
582. Mmm.Copy !req
583. I'm gonna check
the perimeter.Copy !req
584. Ah!Copy !req
585. We have no problem with
that language and will adjust.Copy !req
586. We do have a concern
on page 15, clause 4b.Copy !req
587. (BLOWS)
Third paragraph begins,Copy !req
588. "The right to indemnification,
payment, reimbursement."Copy !req
589. Everyone with me?
Yes. I see it.Copy !req
590. This is clearly
a pro-sandbagging clause.Copy !req
591. Troy, it simply gives us
the right to indemnificationCopy !req
592. for breaches
of representation.Copy !req
593. Of which
there are none.Copy !req
594. We feel it's necessary,
given the fast pace
of the negotiations thus farCopy !req
595. and the lack of time we've had
to complete due diligence.Copy !req
596. Mesa Verde set
the pace here.Copy !req
597. Further,
you're oversteppingCopy !req
598. by requiring
parts of the target payment
be put aside as collateral.Copy !req
599. Kim Wexler here.
If I may respectfully
remind you,Copy !req
600. Mesa Verde is allowing you
to keep a clauseCopy !req
601. that warranty breaches
must be in a material respect.Copy !req
602. It's standard language.Copy !req
603. Y... As is ours.Copy !req
604. Come on.
Guys, meet me halfway here.Copy !req
605. Fine.
Then we'd like to discussCopy !req
606. how we're defining "knowledge"
within the contract.Copy !req
607. (CELL PHONE VIBRATING)
Be my guest.Copy !req
608. We feel that
what we've establishedCopy !req
609. is pretty reasonable.
(KEYPAD BEEPS)Copy !req
610. Our clients would like
to propose...
Hey there.Copy !req
611. changing "within
the seller's knowledge"Copy !req
612. to "to the best of
the seller's knowledge."Copy !req
613. (GULPS) Slow down. Slow down.
That's fine, but you
have to give us a chance to...Copy !req
614. (CAR DOOR SLAMS)
Insincere! Insincere?Copy !req
615. Jimmy, what happened?
A goddamn year?Copy !req
616. What am I supposed to do
for a whole year?Copy !req
617. Jimmy...
I can guarantee youCopy !req
618. I'm not selling cell phones
for a fuckin' year.Copy !req
619. I'll tell you that.
What did they say, exactly?Copy !req
620. How... How did it...
(GROANS) Hard pass!Copy !req
621. All right.
And don't tell me
I can appealCopy !req
622. because once the board
hears the word "insincere,"
I'm screwed.Copy !req
623. Jimmy... Jimmy...
How do you
disprove "insincere"?Copy !req
624. Please, Jimmy,
just take a breathCopy !req
625. and start
from the beginning, please.Copy !req
626. I was good, Kim.Copy !req
627. I mean, I...
I wasn't stuck up,
but I knew my shit, right?Copy !req
628. "What have you been doing
during your suspension?"Copy !req
629. and, uh, "Have you been
keeping up with the law?"Copy !req
630. Yada-yada. All fine.Copy !req
631. And then one of them,
out of nowhere,Copy !req
632. comes up with
this weird-ass question...Copy !req
633. "What does the law
mean to you?"Copy !req
634. That's a big one.Copy !req
635. Huge! And I nailed it!Copy !req
636. I talked about
the meaning of the lawCopy !req
637. and I was down-to-earth,
and I was humble,Copy !req
638. and I was sincere,
and they loved it.Copy !req
639. So...
So they turned me down.Copy !req
640. Well, there has to be
more to it than that.Copy !req
641. There's not.Copy !req
642. I don't... (STAMMERS)Copy !req
643. What did they say
when you talked about Chuck?Copy !req
644. (SCOFFS) What does Chuck
have to do with this?
What?Copy !req
645. Well, so,
you didn't even...Copy !req
646. Why would I?Copy !req
647. Okay. O... Um...Copy !req
648. Okay, listen,
we will figure this out.Copy !req
649. And, yes, you will appeal.
We'll appeal this to the...Copy !req
650. They're just gonna
rubber-stamp...
Well, we won't let them.Copy !req
651. They're gonna
rubber-stamp whatever...
And we'll find a wayCopy !req
652. to make you look sincere.
Kim, I was sincere!Copy !req
653. I know that.
I meant we will fix it.Copy !req
654. I might have been a little
corny, but I meant every word.Copy !req
655. I know that.Copy !req
656. You don't believe me.Copy !req
657. Of course I do.
Jesus.Copy !req
658. It's right there
on your face.Copy !req
659. You think
I'm some kind of lowlife,
some kind of asshole.Copy !req
660. What?
The kind of lawyer
guilty people hire, right?Copy !req
661. No.
Jimmy, that's not...Copy !req
662. Yeah, you look at me,
and you see Slippin' Jimmy.Copy !req
663. I never said that.Copy !req
664. Yeah,
but you thought it!Copy !req
665. You want to know
why the committee
called you insincere?Copy !req
666. Because you didn't
mention Chuck.Copy !req
667. What does that
have to even...Copy !req
668. They read the transcripts.Copy !req
669. They know
what happened, Jimmy.Copy !req
670. They were waiting for you
to say something about him.Copy !req
671. So I'm supposed to make
a big hairy dealCopy !req
672. about my dead brother
at my re-instatement hearing?Copy !req
673. How is that sincere?Copy !req
674. I don't
think about Chuck, okay?Copy !req
675. I don't miss Chuck.Copy !req
676. Chuck was alive and now
he's dead and that's that.Copy !req
677. Finito. Life goes on.
So sue me.Copy !req
678. There it is again.
(STAMMERS)Copy !req
679. That's why
we don't have an office.
What? No!Copy !req
680. Just, you know,
do not start in
on that office.Copy !req
681. I don't want to hear
another wordCopy !req
682. about that stupid office.Copy !req
683. Stupid office? Okay.
Here we go. Here we go.Copy !req
684. Jimmy, I have been
on your side
since the day we met!Copy !req
685. Who comes running
when you call?Copy !req
686. Who cleans up your messes?Copy !req
687. I have a job,Copy !req
688. but I drop everything for you
every single time...Copy !req
689. You confess to a felony
on tape, I'm there.Copy !req
690. You have a bar hearing,
I represent you.Copy !req
691. Over and over again,
if you need me, I'm there.Copy !req
692. But somehow in your mind
the only measureCopy !req
693. of my feelings for you
is... Is some office?Copy !req
694. I'm good enough to live with,
to sleep with,Copy !req
695. but God forbid you should
have an office with me.Copy !req
696. What are you t...
I just told you...Copy !req
697. You get a little bored
with your life,Copy !req
698. so you come down
and roll around in the dirt...
That's...Copy !req
699. have some fun
with Slippin' Jimmy...
Oh, is it fun?Copy !req
700. and then it's
(CLICKS TONGUE) back up.
Fun like lying to the ADACopy !req
701. to get your friend
out of the shitter?Copy !req
702. Or fun like standing there
with a smile plastered
on my faceCopy !req
703. while you play infantile
mind games on my law partner?Copy !req
704. Oh, what a mistake it wasCopy !req
705. to take me up
to your office in the sky!Copy !req
706. You'll never
do that again!
Yeah, maybe I won't.Copy !req
707. And maybe next time you call,
I won't come.Copy !req
708. There you go.
Kick a man when he's down.Copy !req
709. Jimmy, you are
always down.Copy !req
710. I messed it all up.Copy !req
711. You still
want to be a lawyer?Copy !req
712. Yeah.Copy !req
713. Well, we can start
with that.Copy !req
714. Hey, Mike.Copy !req
715. Hey.Copy !req
716. Thanks.Copy !req
717. Oh, thank you, sir.Copy !req
718. So, what do we got?Copy !req
719. It's pretty quiet.Copy !req
720. Kai was up late again.Copy !req
721. About an hour
after he went down,Copy !req
722. Werner came out
for a couple minutes.Copy !req
723. Then Casper was up
around 2:30,Copy !req
724. watched some TV,
headed back in.Copy !req
725. What's going on with six?Copy !req
726. Huh?Copy !req
727. There... What is that?Copy !req
728. Oh, yeah. Dead pixels.Copy !req
729. Wasn't there yesterday.Copy !req
730. Had a voltage spike
earlier.Copy !req
731. Camera flared
for about 20 seconds,
but it came right back.Copy !req
732. A voltage spike?Copy !req
733. Any of the other cameras
do that?Copy !req
734. Uh...Copy !req
735. (MOUSE CLICKING)
Yeah. Ten.Copy !req
736. Show me
the outside cameras.Copy !req
737. Oh.Copy !req
738. You, let's go.Copy !req
739. Get the lights!Copy !req
740. Up there.
You check that out.Copy !req
741. (CHATTER)
What's going on?Copy !req
742. Mike?Copy !req
